There are no Free Web Hosting Providers

As my private homepage will go down soon (because Magenta is terminating this customer service without reason and without offering alternatives), I searched for some web space where I can publish my home. But - I didn't find ANY.

I won't provide the links to the providers I tried out (see below), because I believe that they just pretend to give free web space, instead tempting users to buy, through showing them some beautiful user-interfaces. Thus I will not promote them and tempt you to go there. You can find them easily by entering their names in some search engine if you want. For seeing specifications of their offers, go to this techradar article.

Is there no free web hosting because there is not enough disk space? In 2020, 500 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute - can not be missing disk space. Hackers? When yes, how do they manage this for paying users?

InfinityFree

When I uploaded my directories, the upload-dialog stopped after some time without telling the reason. The directory where it stopped contained 24 MB, 15 MB being images and 9 MB being HTML files linking to them. I saw a message that my account has been deactivated and that I should create a request to reactivate the account.

After a day this was done and I tried again, with the same result. A mail was sent to me that one of the (absolutely harmless) HTML files is not allowed and that I should buy a Premium account.

After another day I used the once more reactivated account to delete all files and abandon the account.

Byet

Exactly the same as InfinityFree, same user interfaces and same error message, again account deactivated when uploading that directory of 24 MB.

FreeWebHostingArea

They say that their site is maintained by volunteers. The web page looks quite old-fashioned compared to others. When clicking the "Free SubDomain Hosting" button, an empty page comes up, saying "Select a subdomain from the list", but there is no list. End. For "Free Domain Hosting" you need an already registered domain. In other words, either they stopped free hosting, or I didn't find out how to get it.

FreeHostingNoAds, FreeHostingEU

Their terms of services say that no more than 10% of the files must be images. PDF or other media files. I didn't even try to upload anything. What is this service for? Theiy also make the user responsible to care for security issues. Moreover they ask for your full name and address.

GoogieHost

They ask for lots of personal information, including billing address. I won't give this information for a free account that can disappear any day.

000webhost

Just entering my e-mail address and the account password immediately showed validation errors. They did not accept the e-mail, instead required a "GMail or Outlook" address, whatever that means. I didn't continue because I knew that this will not work.

And bad reputation that sounds realistic:
